Make Games with Easy Game Programming Tutorials

Making games: the key to successful Game Programming…

The key to successful game programming is to learn to make a good game fast.

This means learning simple game programming first, using it to make a good game, and perhaps move on to more complex game programming languages later.

Start learning C++ or Java now and you may be light years away from achieving a good game, which means you’ll probably never get there.

Doing this leaves you time to take the first steps to making games that make money, and perhaps make a living making games soon.

Making an RPG game with GML – Game Programming tutorials.

A game programming tutorial that teaches game mechanics you could use in a good RPG game, with click and drag inventory management (à la World of Warcraft), quests, interaction with other characters…

This is based on Game Maker, and requires the free version that you can find here. GM is a great tool to learn as it remains free as long as you want it to before upgrading to pro (only $25). The pro version removes the GM watermark from your compiled games and adds a few advanced features.

So to get you started, three chapters on creating an RPG game with click and drag navigation features, using Game Maker and GML. Chapter 1 covers some beginner basics, then chapters 2 and 3 get into specifics.

If you are having trouble, don’t miss my quick article on learning faster, increasing motivation and concentration. Follow my recommendation and it will be much more helpful than you can imagine, or than I can describe with words!

Don’t underestimate the possibilities with GML! Swords and Sorcery: Peregrine’s Song is an example, of what can be done, and it is a BIG, (awesome ), game!
